Thousands Protest Siege of Gaza

Tens of thousands of people took to the streets Jan. 25 and 26 in this country and around the world to demand an immediate end to Israel’s siege of Gaza. Protesters gathered outside the Israeli Embassy in Washington, DC on Jan. 25 heard speakers including Muslim American Society (MAS) Freedom Foundation founder Mahdi Bray (r) and Neturei Karta’s Rabbi Dovid Weiss (below) condemn U.S. support for Israel’s policy of collective punishment. The national days of action protests were called by the National Council of Arab Americans, Free Palestine Alliance, MAS Freedom Foundation, Palestinian American Women’s Association, Al-Awda Palestine Right of Return Coalition, the ANSWER coalition, and many other antiwar and progressive groups.
