DEAR SENATOR:
Please introduce a resolution similar
to HCR 111, which calls for the U.S. to launch an investigation
into the death of Rachel Corrie, age 23, an American who was crushed
to death by an IDF bulldozer as she tried to prevent the demolition
of a Palestinian home in Rafah, in the Gaza strip on March 16,
2003.
I also ask you to investigate attacks by Israeli
soldiers and settlers on other Americans: Suraida Saleh, a 21-year-old
American citizen, was killed by IDF gunfire in Ramallah, on March
29, 2002; Brian Avery, 24, was shot in the face by the IDF in Jenin
on April 5, 2003, and survived. Israeli soldiers firing rubber-coated
steel bullets shot and wounded five International Solidarity Movement
peace activists, including American Greta Berlin, in July 2003.
Masked Israeli settlers attacked Christian Peacemaker Team members
Kim Lamberty, 44, and Chris Brown, 39, with chains and bats as
the Americans accompanied children from Tuba near Hebron to school
in the West Bank on Sept. 29 of this year.
Please investigate
these attacks on Americans.

Israeli settlers attacked and badly injured San
Francisco resident Chris Brown and Washington, DC resident Kim Lamberty,
the daughter of an Omaha, NE judge, as they accompanied children
to school Sept. 29 past an illegal outpost near Hebron in the West
Bank. Chris and Kim are volunteers with the Christian Peacemaker
Teams (CPT), which provide nonviolent intercession in areas of violence.
Five male settlers dressed in black and wearing black masks, and
wielding chains and bats, beat them and kicked them with steel-toed
boots, and stole Kim’s passport, money and cellphone. The children
Chris and Kim were protecting on their walk past the Jewish settlement
escaped unharmed.
